The Nigerian Police Force (NPF), FCT Command, has launched an investigation into a disturbing incident of alleged sexual assault that occurred at the Evolve 360 Gym Complex in Apo, Abuja. The case involves Oscar Ilochi, a male resident of the Apo Legislative Quarters, who is accused of molesting a young woman identified as Ebunoluwa—the sister of Seyi Tinubu, son of Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
According to early reports, the incident took place in the basement section of the gym while Ebunoluwa was exercising alone. Ilochi allegedly approached her inappropriately, touched her without consent, and attempted to force himself on her, leaving the victim visibly shaken and emotionally distressed.
The management of Evolve 360 Gym has confirmed that the police have requested access to CCTV footage to aid in their investigation. In a concerning revelation, it was disclosed that Oscar Ilochi had previously been banned from the same gym due to two prior complaints of similar behavior. How he gained access to the facility again remains a critical question in the ongoing investigation.
Sources close to the family say the victim is traumatized by the encounter and is currently receiving medical care. The police have assured the public that thorough investigations are underway and that justice will take its course.
This case has sparked widespread attention on social media, with many Nigerians calling for better security in fitness centers and stricter penalties for repeat offenders. The issue also brings to light the need for improved safeguarding measures for women in public spaces.
As this case continues to unfold, the FCT Police Command is expected to release more updates in the coming days.
